Book condition:  Used - Good (Near Fine).   First edition illustrated by Brock. Deluxe issue. White vellum, elaborately decorated and titled with gilt. Top edge gilt, other sides are untrimmed. A near fine copy. Gift inscription to front end-paper (For Elsie). Color plates and numerous black & white illustrations by C. E. Brock. This deluxe issue with Brock's illustrations neatly captures the gift book style of the original.   Pages are age toned.  Foxing (brown spots) to tissue guard and some of the pages.  Mild cracking between some of the pages.   (please see images above)
Cover:   Good (Near Fine). Light wear to front cover. Slightly bumped corners, general wear, rubbed extremities.  Spine is slightly tilted.  Slight gap between spine and headband.
